Grapple Tong VHZ-2300
Presentation
The VHZ grapple tongs from Fransgård are very useful when the logs are lying in a mess after a storm, or you are simply cleaning up the forest. The machine easily handles the task of efficiently and quickly moving whole or cut logs.
The grapple tong's suspension, with built-in 3 tonne winch, is extremely flexible, allowing logs to be hauled out of hard-to-reach areas while the boom allows the logs to be stacked.
Combi machine increases flexibility
The VHZ-2300 is the same machine as the HZ-2300 except for the three-point suspension. The three-point suspension of the VHZ-2300 incorporates a 3-tonne winch, making the machine even more flexible.
The primary task is of course the use of the grapple tongs, but with the possibility of pulling out a log with the winch, the VHZ-2300 becomes a very useful multi-purpose machine that can be used for many purposes.

Closing cylinder
The powerful double-acting cylinder ensures that the logs are held firmly.
Tongs
The specially designed tongs close past each other, providing a very stable tool
Swing cylinder
The swing cylinder can rotate up to 43 degrees to either side and is a great help when loading the logs. When extracting long logs, it is IMPORTANT that this cylinder is set in the floating position.
Parallel bar
The solid parallel bar is safely positioned behind the large closing cylinder and is thus highly protected against external shocks and impacts. It ensures that the tongs close at the same time.
Sawtooth fittings
Fittings with sawteeth under the cross boom, ensure that the logs are held in the tongs during extension.
Support legs
The 2 support legs are easily placed in the bracket and are always at hand when parking the tool. When using the winch, the support legs are lowered and used to counteract and stabilise the tool.
Top bar attachment
The top bar attachment has both a fixed hole and elongated slot. The fixed hole is used for short logs, while the elongated slot can be used for long logs.
Guide arm
The 2 fixed guide rods in the middle of the arm ensure that short logs are kept in place during transport. If you are working with long logs, the ends of the logs must end before you get to the guide rods.
Cylinder attachment
The strong cylinder attachment with lubricating nipple ensures long life and a stable tong.
Safety grill
The grapple tongs have a safety guard as standard to protect the tractor while working with the built-in winch.
Assembly bolts
All assembly bolts are greasable and galvanised.
Open
The VHZ-2300 can open up to 2,300 mm.
Closed
The VHZ-2300 can close its tongs so tightly that it can hold on to a log as small as 17 cm in diameter.
Bushing
All rotating points of the HZ-2300 are fitted with lubricatable bronze bushes, which give the tongs a very long service life on these points.
Belt brake
The winch in the tongs is fitted with a brake belt, which ensures that the winch is always braked when the wire retraction is completed.
Label for operation
The winch has clear yellow labels with information about the operation and lubrication points, which provides a great deal of security for the user.
Activating the clutch and brake
The clutch is activated by pulling the green cord, which also automatically activates the brake.
Freewheel brake
The wire drum is fitted with a spring-loaded freewheel brake, which ensures that the wire drum stops rotating as soon as the extraction of the wire is stopped. This prevents loose wire parts from entering the wire drum.
Clutch and backplate
The clutch in the winch is adjusted and sealed from the factory. The backplate is bolted on and can be easily removed for servicing.
Clutch arm
The clutch arm is always pulled up to the welded stop, which makes it easy for the user to know when the winch is fully activated and the 3 pins in the clutch housing are positioned correctly and the winch is pulling optimally.
